I’m exceedingly grateful we provide advice that encompasses uncomfortable things like Estate Planning. Today I received a call from a newly bereaved widow, and her son, their world fell apart when the patriarch unexpectedly died.
She had no idea what to do, because he’d always handled ‘the money’. It was a blessing to be able to provide reassurance she’d be okay financially, which caused a flood of tears.
I could provide reassurance because we’d focused on ensuring she would be fine in case anything went wrong. After crying together, we discussed what happens next and importantly that she’ll be fine financially.
Before coming to us, this situation would’ve been exactly the opposite simply because estate planning hadn’t previously been part of the process.
It’s a stark reminder about the importance of getting the Estate Planning part of financial planning right, clients rely on it.
